Sheffield’s Big Spring Clean

What a difference we could make to our City if we all did a little bit of Spring Cleaning in our local area and on our streets! Sheffield’s Big Spring Clean will take place 21 March to 19 April 2009.

What does this mean? We would like everybody to join in with us to have a clean up.

  • You could join together with other people and litter pick the streets and open spaces where you live.
  • Join with your neighbours to brush up your street
  • Pick rubbish as you walk the dog
  • Get your voluntary group, local association, youth club, school or faith group to have a clean up event. Make it into a party!
  • Persuade your managers at work to sign up and get involved.

If you'd like to spearhead a Norton Lees clean-up, please get in touch with NoLRA who will be delighted to help you.

Look on the Sheffield City Council’s website www.sheffield.gov.uk or contact Street Force’s Community Services section 0114 273 4221 or email streetforce@sheffield.gov.uk

  • to register your clean up
  • to borrow equipment
  • to check how to clean up safely
  • to tell us how successful you’ve been

How will we know if we’ve been successful? We’d love to hear about your successes.

  • send us a picture
  • tell us how many people took part and how much rubbish you collected
  • share your story by writing to your local paper or Councillor
  • check out the web site for success stories

Together we can make a difference to Sheffield – where everyone matters!
